Number One with a Bullet is a 1987 action adventure movie written by Gail Morgan Hickman and directed by Jack Smight. Two undercover Chicago narcotic detectives, Ronald Barzak (Robert Carradine) and Patrick Hazeltine (Billy Dee Williams), grow frustrated with the limited success of their work. After a particularly brutal murder they begin investigating a seemingly clean businessman (Barry Sattels). Soon they discover evidence that suggests that the businessman is actually a crime kingpin. However, their efforts to arrest him are repeatedly foiled not only by criminals, but also by their superiors. They quickly grow suspicious that there is a mole within their own department, and evidence points to their own captain (Peter Graves). With few people they can trust, the duo struggles to uncover the link between police corruption and the local business community. When Bazak's wife is raped and his cat killed by goons, he and Hazeltine decide to go vigilante. Will the two renegade police officers find justice?
