O is a drama film based on William Shakespeare's Othello. The film begins with Palm Grove Prep School winning a basketball game. Odin James (Mekhi Phifer) is the star of the team and is awarded with the MVP award. On the sidelines, Hugo (Josh Hartnett), another student at Palm Grove, watches the game. He is jealous of Odin's popularity and his relationship with the dean's daughter, Desi (Julia Stiles). Hugo begins to concoct a plan to ruin Odin's reputation and his relationship with Desi. At a party, Hugo tells Odin that Desi has been spending a lot of time with another basketball player, Michael (Andrew Keegan), and that she may be cheating with him. At first, Odin refuses to believe it, but when he spots Desi and Michael together, he begins to wonder of it is true. Hugo continues to drive a wedge between Desi and Odin causing a series of tragic events and changing the lives of everyone around him.moreless
