Observe and Report is a 2009 comedy written and directed by Jody Hill. Ronnie Barnhardt (Seth Rogan) is a security guard at Forest Ridge Mall, but his biggest dream is to become a police officer one day. Unfortunately, Ronnie faces opposition from the lead investigator at the police station, Detective Harrison (Ray Liotta), who thinks that Ronnie is an idiot. When a mysterious flasher and a shoe thief start creating chaos in the mall, Ronnie thinks that this is the perfect chance to show that he has the skills to a be a police officer. With the help of fellow security guard, Dennis (Michael Pena), Ronnie, whose behavior is becoming increasingly erratic, makes bumbling attempts to learn the identity of the criminals. Meanwhile, he also attempts to win the heart of his long-time crush, Brandi (Anna Faris), a snotty, yet beautiful, makeup counter worker who is not interested in his advances.
