Obsessive Love is a made-for-TV thriller about a woman with a soap-star obsession that reaches unhealthy proportions. Linda Foster (Yvette Mimieux) is a pensive and withdrawn travel agent, devoid of any hope for normal life. She decides that, instead of getting out into the real world, she'll stay at home and watch her favorite soap opera, "Savage Hills." The soap stars Glenn Stevens (Simon MacCorkindale) as Michael. She's passionately obsessed with both the character and actor. As her fixation increases, Linda decides to act on her fantasies and pursue the actor in real life. She tells her overbearing mother that she's engaged and goes to Los Angeles to meet Glenn. A new look and wardrobe allow her to succeed, and Linda uses coercion and seduction to lure Glenn away from his marriage and into her waiting arms. Obsessive Love was released on October 2, 1984 and was directed by Steven Hilliard Stern.
