Johnny McQueen (James Mason, North by Northwest, Lolita, Salem's Lot, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea) is the leader of a clandestine faction, like a kind of IRA group, and they have been hiding in the house of Kathleen Sullivan (Kathleen Ryan) and her mother. They are planning a big hold up, the money will provide his group the funds they need to continue with activities in the city. During the robbery though, things go a little wrong, Johnny ends up being shot in the shoulder, and after falling out the getaway car cannot be picked up, or find his way back to the hideout, disappearing in the back alleys of Belfast. Soon begins a large scale manhunt to find Johnny, and while the police want to catch the chief and his gang members, other people want different things.moreless
