Oklahoma Badlands is a 1948 western film about the attempt of a band of friends to protect the Rawlins Ranch from greedy Oliver Budge (Gene Roth), who wants to overtake it because of its property value. Budge plots to kill the owner and heirs to the ranch but only succeeds in killing owner Matt Rawlins (uncredited), leaving his adult children Ken Rawlins (Jay Kirby) and Leslie Rawlins (Mildred Coles) to fight for the ranch. Ken summons his gun slinging friend "Rocky" Lane (Allan Lane) to help take care of the matter, but Ken is killed before Rocky Lane arrives. Knowing that Oliver Budge and his men think that Leslie is a man, Rocky assumes the name and identity of Leslie Rawlins. The real Leslie is disguised as a house maid at the ranch. The two fight to save Rawlins Ranch and expose Oliver Budge, bringing him and his men to justice.
