Once Upon A Texas Train, filmed in Tucson, Arizona, is a romantic western filled with action in the Wild West. Texas Ranger Captain Owen Hayes (Richard Widmark) has been trying, along with his fellow Texas Rangers, to capture the villainous outlaw John Henry Lee (Willie Nelson) for years. Finally Captain Hayes gets his man when he catches John Lee trying to blow up a railroad. John Lee is convicted and jailed, much to the satisfaction of Captain Hayes. Twenty years later, John Lee is finally released from prison with only vengeance on his mind. Hours after his release, John Lee holds up the Bank of Texas and gleefully flees with his loot. Captain Hayes is furious that John Lee got away and comes back from retirement to lead the chase. Will John Lee outrun the Texas Rangers and enjoy his ill-gotten gains, or will Captain Hayes put an end to John Lee's criminal activities forever?
