One Fine Day is an Academy Award nominated romantic comedy directed by Michael Hoffman. It tells the story of a day in the lives of two single parents, Melanie Parker (Michelle Pfeifer) and Jack Taylor (George Clooney). When Jack's ex-wife unexpectedly drops their daughter Maggie (Mae Whitman) off at his house before school, he forgets that Melanie was supposed to bring Maggie to school that morning. In the resulting confusion, both parents get their children to school too late to catch their class's field trip bus. Jack and Melanie have high-powered jobs and are unable to provide their respective children with a full day's care. Despite their dislike for one another, they agree to work together to take care of their children throughout their very busy day. Melanie and Jack must cooperate to arrange daycare, dress their children in costumes, and ensure Melanie's son Sammy's (Alex D. Linz) success in sports - but even with each other's help, can they balance their professional and personal lives?
