One from the Heart is the 1982 musical drama romance from legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, The Conversation, Bram Stoker's Dracula). Frannie (Teri Garr) and (Hank) Frederic Forrest are two everyday Joes who live together and are having relationship difficulties. Frannie works in a travel agency, wishing she could visit the places she sends others to. Hank works at a wrecking yard, salvaging old neon signs and creating a little piece of heaven in the back of the garage. The two lovers call it quits, and Frannie meets Ray (Raul Julia, The Addams Family, Addams Family Values, Street Fighter), a waiter/wannabe singer who wants to go to all those places Frannie dreams about. Hank meets circus girl Leila (Nastassia Kinski), who loves his little play land behind the garage, and also wants to run away with him. These new couples all bed down together and Frannie prepares to go to Bora Bora with Ray. Leila leaves Hank, who chases Frannie, trying to stop her from getting on the plane. Eventually, the two (Frannie and Hank) end up back together with a new found love for each other...moreless
