One Missed Call is a 2008 horror film starring Shannyn Sossamon and Edward Burns in a terrifying tale about a murderous spirit using cell phone calls to identify their next victim, and the two believers who conduct an investigation into the source of the spirit, hoping to stop the killer before anyone else dies. Sossamon plays Beth Raymond, a young woman living in fear following with untimely deaths of four of her friends. For each death, the victim received a phone call from their future selves shortly before dying. They all saw peculiar apparitions just before death, and afterwards they each had a hard red candy in their mouths. The police refuse to investigate a ghost story, but one detective, Jack Andrews, also knew someone who died in this horrifying manner. Andrews and Beth begin tracing back the killings to discover the source of the mysterious crimes, but they both know the closer they get to the truth, the closer they get to receiving their own final phone calls. One Missed Call is a remake of a 2004 Japanese film and is directed by Eric Vallette.moreless
