One take is a drama by writer and director Dan Wachspress featuring a cast of mostly unknown actors taking place in upstate New York. It begins with Kevin (Jamison Selby) receiving a mysterious card from Jessie (Jessica Queller), the girl he never stopped loving despite her breaking up with him four years prior. Supposedly, Jessica died a week earlier, but the letter was mailed out two days ago and has her handwriting scribbled on the back. Vowing to solve the mystery, Kevin embarks upon a road trip to Jessica's hometown to learn what he can, accompanied with Jessica's sister Jerry (Karl Giant) and his old friend Jon (Kevin Orton). Kevin also finds himself haunted with a recurring hallucination of Jessica, who seemingly knows more than she should. Despite resistance and growing fear of his own questionable sanity, Kevin delves deeper into the mystery but what he uncovers may shatter all his perceptions of life, love, and the nature of sacrifice.
