Responsibility is catching up with Varon Thomas (Kenny Young). As his roommate is finally moving out, Varon is poised to marry the girl of his dreams (Saadiqa Muhammad). With a promotion opportunity at his job, Varon's future has never looked brighter. Only one week before his wedding date, Varon is contacted and informed that an unidentified past lover has contracted the AIDS virus. Without telling friends or family, he undergoes an HIV test. Searching for this mysterious ex-lover, stress mounts and anxiety boils under the surface as Varon tries to go about his daily routine and prepare for his wedding night. Director Carl Seaton and lead actor Kenny Young collaborated on this script about responsibility and the difficulties of getting out of the ghetto. "One Week" was a success on the festival circuit winning numerous awards, including the Audience Choice Award at the Chicago Film Festival.
