Open Season is a 1995 satire and comedy film. It is written and directed by Robert Wuhl, who also stars as the film's main character. Stuart Sain (Robert Wuhl) is an executive at the Fielding Ratings Service, an organization that is in charge of monitoring people's television watching habits. It has a reputation of always being correct. Stuart Sain is ambitious and is hoping for a promotion, but he loses his temper during a TV special. Instead of a promotion, Stuart Sain finds a new job as the public relations chief at a liberal public broadcasting company. Things begin to get strange as this small artsy public broadcasting suddenly shoots toward the top of the ratings. The movie turns into satire as the characters wonder whether there is a problem with the formerly meticulous rating system or if people are actually interested in this small intellectual show. Open Season also makes fun of drug rehab counselors, including the main character's wife, Cary (Maggie Han) and other segments of liberal society.moreless
