Movie Summary

Roger Allers , Jill Culton
Open Season is an animated film which tells the story of Boog (Martin Lawrence) a very unique grizzly bear. Weighing in at over 900 pounds, he is not at all adapted to the wilderness after a lifetime in captivity. When he finds himself loose and alone in the woods only three days before open season starts, Boog doesn't know what to do. His domestic skills are of little use to him and he quickly discovers that he will need some help if he is going to survive. When Boog runs into Elliot, (Ashton Kutcher) a scrawny mule deer, the two become fast friends. Elliot convinces Boog to leave his safe spot in the park ranger's garage and venture out into the wild. Unfortunately, things spiral out of their control rather quickly. With open season fast approaching, these friends must learn to rely on each other for survival. Along the way, Boog and Elliot meet many new friends who they help guide to safety.moreless

Periodic bursts of cleverness and eye-popping imagery, further enhanced in the 3-D Imax version, can't disguise that this is just another movie full of jive-talking computer-genera...

  • I'm glad this crappy movie is rated 3.3 from this site.

It's just like what jm5189 said! This is one of the world's worst and most moronic movies ever made! Why not watch Gordy instead? Go for Gordy and forget this crappy movie and its stupid sequels.
  • One of the worst animated movies ever.

It's between this and Home on the Range for what might just be the worst animated movie I have ever seen. I mean it rips off The Jungle Book, Bambi, Brother Bear, and The Fox and the Hound. The worst part is the studio that made this did not learn their lesson and actually created not one but TWO sequels. I'm just glad there's no Open Season 4!
