Opera is a 1987 Italian film written and directed by Dario Argento. Betty (Cristina Marsillach) is a young opera understudy who replaces the lead singer in a performance after the star is injured in a car accident. Betty's performance in the role gets rave reviews, but the cast and crew begin to be murdered by a deranged killer. Somehow, Betty has triggered a bizarre murderous reaction from an opera viewer who binds Betty and tapes pins to her eyes so she cannot close them. The hooded killer forces her to watch as he murders her cast mates. The killer is a sneaky diabolic murderer who is never caught, and years later when Betty is home alone, he comes after her again. After all this time has passed, Betty still suffers from horrible nightmares. Can the nightmares be the key to unlocking the murderer's identity?
