Out of Balance investigates the role of the world's largest company on climate change. ExxonMobil has significant influence over governments, media and citizens, which ultimately positions the company to control what can be done about global warming. ExxonMobil has supported climate change "skeptics" and enjoyed the support of the Bush administration. As a result, the company has been given license to continue experiencing record profits while ignoring climate science. This documentary presents large-scale ideas for social changes that are needed to have a livable planet for future generations. Out of Balance features interviews with scientists such as the Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, R. K. Pachauri, the senior scientist for the World Bank, Robert Watson, and Princeton's Michael Oppenheimer; authors Bill McKibben, Elizabeth Kolbert, and Ross Gelbspan; environmental activists from the Union of Concerned Scientists, Exxpose Exxon and Greenpeace; and Rick Piltz, director of Climate Science Watch.
