Out of Sight is a crime thriller that tells the story of Jack Foley (George Clooney), a professional bank robber who breaks out of prison and is forced to kidnap a U.S. Marshal, Karen Sisco (Jennifer Lopez), to keep her from breaking the news of his escape. Together with his two accomplices, Buddy (Ving Rhames) and Glenn (Steve Zahn), Jack gets back into the game and decides to visit his new enemy, Ripley (Albert Brooks), who ratted him out and got him imprisoned earlier. Ripley has a huge stash of uncut African diamonds hidden somewhere in his house, and Jack's latest venture is to get his hands on them. If he can get Ripley shot or imprisoned in the process, all the better. This film marks the beginning of a long collaboration between George Clooney and director Steven Soderbergh. Together, they will go on to make films like Oceans Eleven and Twelve.
