Outbreak is a 1995 film directed by Wolfgang Petersen. The action begins in Zaire, where a deadly and highly contagious virus kills an entire village within 24 hours. The disease starts spreading quickly across the Motaba River Valley, and a group of scientists are brought in the country to solve the problem. Unfortunately, the solution is provided by military officials, who choose to drop a devastating bomb on the valley to prevent further progression of the virus. Thirty years later when the epidemic reignites, Sam Daniels (Dustin Hoffman), a specialist on infections, is assigned to work in the area. He does research work with his ex-wife Robby (Rene Russo) and their colleague Casey (Kevin Spacey), to find the antidote that would stop the virus from killing more people. It seems that corrupt General McClintock (Donald Sutherland) has his own reasons behind using explosives in this case, while Army surgeon General Ford (Morgan Freeman) is caught in the middle. The scientists work both against the clock and the haste of the military. This award-winning film with a star cast will keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
