Outlaw Trail: The Treasure of Butch Cassidy is a 2006 adventure film directed by Ryan Little that borrows from the legend of Butch Cassidy. The film starts off with Cassidy (James Karen), whose given name was LeRoy Parker, in Bolivia in 1908, where he is hiding after leaving the gang he led through bank robberies and train heists in the 1890s. He writes a letter to his family and encloses a belt buckle that he has had engraved with a map to his treasure. The film moves to Circleville, Utah in 1951, where his 16-year-old grand-nephew Roy Parker (Ryan Kelley) finds the belt buckle and sets off on a grand adventure to find his idolized great-uncle's treasure. Jess (Dan Byrd), Roy's best friend, Ellie (Arielle Kebbel), the girl Roy is in love with, and Martin (Brent Weber), a spoiled boy dragged into the quest, join Roy on his voyage to find out the truth about Cassidy. Their adventure will change each of them forever.moreless
