Pandora's Box is a German silent romantic crime drama from director Georg Wilhelm Pabst. The black-and-white movie is set in 1928 Berlin and follows the downward spiral of Lulu (Louise Brooks), a na''ve, young, beautiful showgirl whose innocence and nonchalant eroticism has a profound effect on every man that encounters her. She marries Dr. Ludwig Schoen (Fritz Kortner), the owner of a newspaper firm who is besotted with her. Then, after some unfortunate events involving a verbal showdown and a gun, Lulu is forced to flee to Paris as a runaway convict with Dr. Schoen's son, Alwa (Francis Lederer), and his friend. Once in Paris, however, Lulu finds herself in more trouble and heads to England to escape where she meets Jack the Ripper (Gustav Diessl), one of history's most notorious serial murderers. Will Lulu become his next victim or will her sexual power, beauty and charm be enough to save her?
