Paradise Alley is a 1978 film set in New York's Hell's Kitchen in the 1940s. It tells the story of three Italian brothers, Cosmo (Sylvester Stallone), an aimless con man, Lenny (Armande Assante), who works in an embalming parlor, and Victor (Lee Canalito), a large, slow-witted man of immense strength. The three are struggling, but when Cosmo discovers that Victor has a talent inside the wrestling ring, he sees a chance to make some real money and escape the streets. He convinces Lenny to become Victor's manager and he will serve as his trainer. They nickname him "The Salami" and even pin slices of salami on his costume. After a few successes in the ring, Lenny is able to win back his former girlfriend Annie (Anne Archer), but begins to push the sweet-tempered Victor harder and harder. Has success gone to Lenny's head? Can Cosmo keep him from getting Victor hurt? Paradise Alley was written and directed by star Sylvester Stallone, who even sings the title track.moreless
