Paradise Canyon is a 1935 western directed by Carl Pierson. John Wyatt (John Wayne) sets out to find a group of counterfeiters and goes under cover as a sharp shooter in a traveling medicine show with Doc Carter (Earl Hodgins) and his daughter Linda Carter (Marion Burns). The medicine show rides into the town where Curly Joe Gale (Yakima Canutt) runs his gambit. Carter, who was once fingered by Curly Joe for a crime he didn't commit, wants revenge against Curly for sending him to prison. Wyatt realizes that Curly Joe is the counterfeiter, so Curly Joe tries to frame him. As the sheriff arrests Wyatt, Curly Joe kidnaps Doc Carter and Linda. Wyatt manages to escape the sheriff's clutches and while eluding a posse, sets off to rescue Linda and her father. After following the trio across the border into Mexico, Wyatt is mistakenly arrested by the Mexican police. Curly Joe sets his sights on taking Doc and Linda down into the Old Paradise Mine. It's up to Wyatt to shake the police, find Curly Joe, and set his friends free.
