Paraiso Travel is a 2008 drama based on author Jorge Franco's bestselling novel of the same title. The film follows the story of a teen girl, Reina (Angelica Blandon) and a teen boy, Marlon (Aldemar Correa), living in Medellin, Columbia. While Reina dreams of the chance to escape to the United States in pursuit of the American dream, Marlon only dreams of winning Reina's love and spending his future with her. Eventually Reina discovers a means of making it to the United States and Marlon hesitantly comes along for the journey, motivated by his love for the girl. However, shortly after arriving in New York City, Reina disappears in pursuit of a future of her own, leaving Marlon to look out for himself. As Marlon struggles to cope with this new environment, he's taken in by Roger Pena (John Leguizamo). With Pena's help, Marlon begins to adapt to life in America, however he finds himself increasingly obsessed with his love for Reina; a love that he must overcome if he is to move on with his new life.
