Paranoia 1.0 is a 2004 American film directed by Jeff Renfroe and Marteinn Thorsson. When young computer programmer Simon J. (Jeremy Sisto) finds empty plain brown paper packages in his apartment, he wonders where they came from. He begins to secure the borders of his apartment and watch every movement that happens, but the packages continue to appear. Simon questions his neighbors as to their whereabouts, but finds that no matter what he does, the packages appear. As his every motion is captured on self-installed cameras, Simon begins to lose his grip on reality. Eventually he discovers that his neighbors have also been receiving packages. Oddly enough, Simon and his neighbors have been developing an addiction to various consumer products. When Simon learns about a plot to infuse Nanomites in people's brains to encourage an addiction to products, he begins to realize that he is a guinea pig in a corporate experiment. Paranoia 1.0 was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival.moreless
