Paris is a romantic drama film directed by Cédric Klapisch centering on the interweaving lives of fellow Parisians as they live, love, and lose. Pierre (Romain Duris) had been a fantastic cabaret dancer and the life of the party but when he learns he has a serious and potentially fatal heart condition, he sequesters himself into his apartment, reminiscing and wallowing in the life he may lose. His sister, Élise (Juliette Binoche), is a divorced mother of three who works as a social worker. As she sets up shop in Pierre's apartment to take care of him and the lives of her clients, including Mourad (Zinedine Soualem), an immigrant hoping to get his brother into France, Élise contemplates the men around her. Their daily lives intersect with that of academic and Parisian history expert Roland Verneuil (Fabrice Luchini), whose fear of loneliness leads him to anonymously send love notes to his student and Pierre's neighbor Laetitia (Mélanie Laurent). Roland's brother Philippe (Francois Cluzet) begins to panic over the birth of his first child and his new building project set to start soon just as Benoit, Mourad's brother, Benoit (Kingsley Kum Abang), takes the treacherous and illegal trek to Paris from Cameroon.moreless
