Paris, Texas is a 1984 cult-classic drama from director Wim Wenders that stars Harry Dean Stanton and Dean Stockwell in a gripping story about a man who mysteriously re-appears after spending four years as a missing person and begins to put his life back together, attempting to figure out what happened to his wife and son. This story takes place in the barren deserts of East Texas, accompanied by an original score from lauded slide guitarist Ry Cooder. Without explanation, Travis Henderson (Stanton) wanders into a small Texas town from the arid expanses of Texas desert. His brother Walt (Stockwell) learns of Travis' return and drives to pick him up, hoping to finally learn what drove him away in the first place. However, Travis remains totally silent, either refusing to speak or rendered unable to during his journey. Walt tries to convince Travis to share his story, but Travis doesn't appear to be interested. As he spends time with Walt's family and begins to regain his familiarity with society, Travis embarks on another journey to discover what happened to him four years ago.moreless
