Passover Fever is an Israeli comedy about all the things that can go wrong when a family gets together for the holidays. Here, Yonna (Gila Almagor) and Michael (Joseph Shiloach) are hosting the Passover celebration, as they do every year. The family gathers and the stage is set. Immediately, Yonna makes her suspicions of Michael's infidelity clear. While the two battle it out, their son, Nethaniel (Alon Aboutboul) comes home with shocking news. He plans to divorce his wife, who has long since been a favorite of the family. To add to things, he brings his new girlfriend, Dorona (Miki Kam) to Passover dinner. These conflicts rage on at the dinner table along with the troubles of each of the kids -- one can't speak, the other constantly whines about snow and the third complains to everyone that he feels neglected. Directed by Shemi Zarhin, this film manages to bring real issues to the table while making them easier to digest by coating them with a nice layer of comedy.moreless
