Passport to Paris is a family comedy released in 1999 and directed by Alan Metter. In the film, identical twin sisters Melanie (Mary-Kate Olsen) and Allyson (Ashley Olsen) are traveling from America to Paris to see their grandfather (Peter White), whom they have not seen in a very long time. This man is no ordinary grandfather, he is the US Ambassador to France. Disappointingly, when the twins arrive the busy ambassador is too busy for them. He has appointed his assistant Jeremy (Matt Winston) to show the girls around and make them feel at home. However, the sisters have other plans. They decide if they can't spend time him they aren't going to be under the thumb of his uptight assistant. The girls manage to get away from Jeremy and find themselves in trouble. The ambassador is obviously embarrassed by the situation and disappointed in the girls. Determined not to leave France on bad terms the girls set out to make it up to grandpa.moreless
