Patricia Cornwell's The Front is a 2010 crime mystery sequel directed by Tom McLoughlin. In the film, Monique Lamont (Andie MacDowell) is a Boston District Attorney who has her heart set on being the Governor of Massachusetts someday. Her high political aspirations sometimes lead her to make choices that give her publicity and not necessarily the best for her police department. In one of these instances, she has decided to have police detective, Win Garano (Daniel Sunjata) reopen a four decade old murder case. Forty years ago, Jane Brolin, a young, blind woman, was brutally murdered. At the time of her death, police suspected her ex-boyfriend of doing the deed. Through her own investigation, Lamont believes the actual murderer could have been the Boston Strangler and she wants Garano to prove it. In order to handle this case appropriately, Garano asks for the assistance of a young female detective, Stump (Ashley Williams). Together the two detectives try to determine what happened to Jane Brolin forty years ago.moreless
