Pattern For Plunder is a British thriller that is also known as Curse of San Michel, The Bay of St. Michel, and Operation Mermaid. It is directed by John Ainsworth. The film follows four World War II veterans in their search for lost Nazi treasure. Nick Rawlings (Keenan Wynn) brings his former war buddies Bill Webb (Ronald Howard), Pru Lawson (Rona Anderson) and Dave Newton (Trader Faulkner) together. He offers them a chance at their cut of $10 million worth of Nazi gold and valuable works of art. Rawlings is in possession of a map split into four pieces, of which he has two. The third is in the hands of Helene Bretton (Mai Zetterling) and the fourth hidden behind a painting of a mermaid. Together, the four pieces lead the men to Mont St. Michel, where cursed tides have supposedly claimed many lives. Nothing, though, is quite that easy, and there are plenty more twists to the story.
