Pauly Shore is Dead is a 2003 comedy written, directed by and starring comedian Pauly Shore in which he pokes fun at himself and his real life waning career. Pauly's career has fallen apart, and he is out of work, homeless and forgotten. His Hollywood friends have forsaken him and no longer want to associate with him now that he is down and out. Forced to live with his mother and park cars at the Comedy Club where he used to be a headliner, Pauly receives a visit from the ghost of the late comedian, Sam Kinison (Timmy Jamieson), voiced by comedian and impressionist, Craig Gass. Sam advises Pauly to kill himself in order to gain status as a comedic icon. Pauly decides to fake his death. Suddenly everyone is praising his genius and Pauly Shore has become the biggest thing in Hollywood. Pauly delights in his new-found fame until his hoax is discovered. Cameos by many well-known stars including Pamela Anderson, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock and Charlie Sheen add to the fun in this clever take on fleeting fame in Hollywood.moreless
