Peeper is an exhilarating 1975 film starring some of Hollywood's favorites - Michael Caine, Natalie Wood, Michael Constantine, and Kitty Winn. The film is a spy-thriller spoof which originated as a novel called Deadfall by W.D. Richter. Keith Laumer adapted the book to film which Peter Hyam directed. Although it was not the most successful film, its excellent cast makes it every bit worth watching. A daughter of the aristocrat Anglich family has gone missing. Mr. Anglich (Michael Constantine), head of the household, hires a trusty spy and detective named Tucker (Michael Caine) to sort out the mystery. All clues lead to the Prendergast family, who are all an elusive bunch of cats. Tucker suspects one of the Prendergast daughters, Ellen (Natalie Wood) and Mianne (Kitty Winn) is actually an Anglich. But he better be sure about his suspicion before he makes an accusations! Tucker uses every ounce of knowledge to deduce which girl is keeping a secret. The only problem is, his skills are a tad rusty. Two thumbs up!moreless
