Released in 2001, Perfume is a film about the New York magazine and entertainment industry. Chronicling the lives of over a dozen people, the film tells the story of how these characters' lives change over the course of a single week. When Lorenzo Mancini (Paul Sorvino) discovers that he is dying from cancer, he attempts to make amends with his ex-wife Irene (Sonia Braga). He also attempts to convince his son Mario (Michael Sorvino) that merging the family business with a hip-hop fashion business. Roberta (Rita Wilson) is a designer struggling to create the latest designs for her next Broadway show. Jamie (Jeff Goldblum), an agent, has found success for his client Camille (Leslie Mann), but struggles when Camille becomes a handful. Janice Crawford (Joanne Baron) is a career driven publisher whose estranged daughter Halley (Michelle Williams) shows up unexpected.
