Permanent Vacation is a 2007 independent black comedy directed by W. Scott Peake and based on the novel What We Did On Our Holidays by Geoff Nicholson. In the film, Eric Bury (Frank Harper) is a stressed out workaholic Englishman. His boss recognizes Eric is close to burning out and orders him to take a mandatory vacation to ease some of his stress. While Eric is initially upset about having to take time off, he begins to think this may actually be a nice experience for him. His teenage children are going to be leaving home soon and this may be the last time they get to take a family vacation. So Eric packs up his wife, Kathleen (Gina Bellman), and their kids Sally (Phoebe Thomas) and Max (Jonathan Bailey), and heads to a Florida campground, America Unlimited. Soon after arriving at the campground, the wholesome family vacation begins to fall apart. Instead of cooking marshmallows and telling ghost stories the family is faced with evil dwarfs, corrupt police officers and tempted by sexual deviants.moreless
