Movie Summary

1992
Rating:
R

An ensemble piece about the emotional New Year's reunion of six college chums.

New year's Eve 1992. Six friends want to celebrate new years in a refined English country house. Ten years ago, they went together to the University and shared all joys and sorrows, but now everyone is going their own way.

The exuberant Sarah changes the friends on a monthly basis and shows up at the party with a new and somewhat limited lover - married, of course.

Roger and Mary got married and trying to overcome the death of one of their children. Maggie is a successful publisher, shy as ever, and threatens to disrupt their loneliness, while Andrew has brought it to the screenwriter in Hollywood and married the bitch soap-opera-star Carol are grappling with various artistic and private crises.

Amidst the chaos of emotions is Peter, the owner of the Villa, apparently as solid as a rock. This weekend the waves are running high: quarrels, flirtations, erotic entanglements and nasty accusations pull like a red thread through the three days. Old wounds are torn open and new added. But some problems also - up on which you simply can not solve. Excellent performer and an excellent book contribute to the intellectual pleasure of cinema...

In Black and White, but I dream in B&W and both are fine.
