Phase IV is a 2002 action thriller directed by Bryan Goeres that centers on the controversial clinical trials of an experimental AIDS drug. Doctor Benjamin Roanic (Stephen Coats) conducts a series of experimental tests on four of his students with the purpose of dicovering a cure for AIDS. Suddenly, all four students die in seemingly unrelated incidents. Journalist Simon Tate (Dean Cain) finds the deaths suspicious and launches an investigation. He discovers that Dr. Roanic actually succeeded in curing the students from AIDS, but a pharmaceutical company was bothered by his intentions to release the drug to the public. Because the company figured out that by withholding the drug they can make more money from AIDS medication sales, they decide to kill Dr. Roanic and bury his secret. With the entire experimental crew dead, Simon has more than enough evidence to dig deeper into the subject. If his story is to survive, he must fight for his life: the pharmaceutical company will do anything to stop him from telling the truth.moreless
