Phat Beach is a comedy that was directed and written by Doug Ellin. In the film, Benny King (Jermaine "Huggy" Hopkins) lives in Southern California and has great plans with his friends for his summer vacation. His father, however, has other plans and Benny is forced to work at the local fast food restaurant flipping burgers. When the family goes on vacation and leaves Benny at home, his good buddy Durrell Jackson (Brian Hooks) comes over with an alternative plan to working. Durrell wants them to go to the beach and sell cheap sunglasses to tourists. Of course Benny finds this a better plan too and both of them hop in his dad's Mercedes and head off to the beach. Their plan to sell sunglasses goes out the door when they discover how much fun they could be having on the beach. They put the sunglasses back in the car and head for the beach, where the meet a couple of girls. Benny's summer gets a lot better, at least until the family comes home from vacation.moreless
