Phat Girlz is a romantic comedy film that centers on plus-sized fashion designer Jazmin Biltmore (Mo'Nique). The film shows clips throughout Jazmin's life, showing her being bullied because of her weight. She wins a trip to a five-star resort in Palm Springs and decides to bring her cousin, Mia (Joyful Drake), and best friend, Stacy (Kendra C. Johnson) with her. One day at the pool, Jazmin, Mia and Stacy are approached by a group of Nigerian doctors. One of these doctors, Tunde (Jimmy Jean-Louis), is attracted to Jazmin and invites her on a date. She accepts and the two begin to see each other every day while at the resort. Tunde tells Jazmin she is beautiful and should not worry about her weight. One night, Jazmin sees Tunde with another woman, who turns out to be his potential boss's daughter. Embarrassed at her mistake, Jazmin returns to her room and eventually leaves the resort without saying goodbye to Tunde. A year goes by and although Jazmin's professional life flourishes, she is lonely without Tunde. She decides to get him back, but is it too late?moreless
