Phobia is a psychological thriller about a psychiatrist that finds unexpected results when he tries a new way to treat his patients. After seeing other treatment methods fail, Dr. Peter Ross (Paul Micael Glaser) comes up with an experimental and highly unorthodox way to cure his patients of their biggest fears. Bringing them head on with the very thing that terrifies them the most, Dr. Ross exposes the frightened subjects to images on a giant screen, hoping the overload will leave them comfortable with their particular phobia. The method initially shows results, but the psychiatrist's theories are questioned when all that undergo the treatment start dying at the hands of their fears themselves. As Dr. Ross struggles to come to grips with the strange phenomena, more murders occur, and he slowly, but surely, begins to lose his grip on reality. John Huston directs this introspective horror film that hits very close to home.
