Picture Perfect is a romantic comedy directed by Glenn Gordon Caron and released in 1997. Kate Mosley (Jennifer Aniston) is a rising star at a prestigious advertising firm. She eagerly applies for a promotion and is devastated when her superiors reject the notion because she has no romantic or family ties to the area. Not one to accept defeat lying down, Kate bounces back with a fictitious story about her "fiance" Nick (Jay Mohr), a handsome man she knows casually through a friend. Kate's plan begins to work; her superiors give her more respect and a handsome colleague begins to flirt with her. Nobody suspects that Kate's engagement is a huge lie, and she's confident that she'll be able to continue the deception indefinitely. Her boss (Kevin Dunn), however, has suddenly taken a keen interest in her engagement, and pressures her to bring her fiance around for a congratulatory dinner. Now Kate must track Nick down and convince him to pose as her lover, or she risks losing her precious promotion.
