Pier 5, Havana is a drama film directed by Edward L. Cahn. The picture was one of the first American features to be filmed in Cuba following Fidel Castro's revolution. The film revolves around the lives of pro-Castro fighter Steve Daggett (Cameron Mitchell), pro-Batista rebel leader Fernando Ricardo (Eduardo Noriega), Steve's recent love interest Monica Gray (Allison Hayes), and his friend Hank Miller (Logan Field). Pier 5, Havana opens with Steve working to protect Castro from counter-revolutionaries in a chaotic, newly freed Cuba. He soon sets out to find his close friend Hank, who has been missing for an extensive period of time. Steve quickly discovers the cause of Hank's disappearance when he realizes that his friend is being forced to work for Fernando Ricardo, and that his recent girlfriend, Monica Gray, is now married to Hank. Steve finds himself caught in a situation complicated by the struggles and conflicts within Cuba, and within himself as well.
