Pinocchio's Christmas is a 1980 animated short family film starring famous storytime characters Pinocchio the wooden puppet (Todd Porter) and Mister Geppetto (George S. Irving), Pinocchio's kind hearted creator. This time, the boy with growing nose is experiencing his first Christmas season. He sees all the preparations for gift giving between loved ones and, of course, wants to get a gift for Geppetto. There is only one little problem, namely that, as a young wooden boy, he has no money. But Pinocchio really wants to give Geppetto something nice, so he does not allow that to hold him back. He finds a job and earns some money. But all goes wrong when the trusting lad gets conned out of his hard earned cash with too little time left to earn enough extra to buy Geppetto a nice gift. In the end, in a heart warming turn that has viewers everywhere sighing with understanding of the Christmas spirit, Pinocchio learns that it is not the presents, but the family and the love that makes Christmas. Pinocchio's Christmas is a lovely holiday time short for the whole family.moreless

  • Colodi's Classic Character Learns About the Meaning of Christmas

    10
Pinocchio's Christmas has been my favorite holiday special since I was nine. The story contains a few elements from the classic story by Carlo Colodi with a holiday twist.

I like the part where Pinocchio performs at the puppet show and meets a puppet friend named Julieta who he wishes to bring to life. Pinocchio learns during his adventures that he doesn't need money to buy Christmas gifts for anyone. He also teaches that very lesson to someone else who doesn't quite understand what Christmas really is.

This is a holiday classic everyone is sure to enjoy. An overall 10.0 is a definite gift I'd give this movie.moreless
