Planet of the Vampires is the famed 1965 Italian cult horror hit from legendary genre filmmaker Mario Bava (Black Sunday, Black Sabbath), which inspired a generation of fear makers and indirectly influenced such classic films as the sci-fi horror blockbuster Alien. A group of astronauts, Captain Mark Markary (Barry Sullivan, The Bad and the Beautiful, The Great Gatsby), Sanya (Norma Bengall), Wess (Angel Aranda), Tiona (Evi Marandi) and Eldon (Mario Morales), hear of a distress call from a passing ship and crash land on a strange planet and decide to investigate. When several crew members start acting crazy, the rest deal with them in appropriate manners. As things get more and more strange, and with the discovery of a gigantic ship filled with skeletons of long dead alien races on board, it becomes a fight to survive from the strange alien menace. Featuring uncredited cinematography by director Bava himself.
