Please Don't Eat the Daisies is a domestic comedy classic from 1960 directed by Charles Walters. Escaping the hustle and bustle of New York, esoteric drama critic, Larry McKay (David Niven) who works for a big New York newspaper, moves with his wife Kay (Doris Day) and their four constantly rambunctious and naughty children from their New York apartment to a large, rambling home in the country. Kate has hoped for a long while that Larry would leave the pretentious city and the endless array of cocktail parties and business meetings behind for good as she tires of her husband's ego and all of his theater friends, including the glamorous Broadway star, Deborah Vaughn (Janis Paige). Though she is not prepared for life in the country, Kay settles in and gets some help from Maggie, her housekeeper (Patsy Kelly). This film is a fun look at the 1950's with Doris Day and David Niven giving fine performances.
