Pluto and the Gopher is a short Disney animated family comedy directed by Charles A. Nichols. Pluto (Pinto Colvig) is living an ideal dog's life, happily sleeping in his doghouse in Minnie Mouse's (Ruth Clifford) backyard. His nap is interrupted when a gopher (Pinto Colvig) begins to cause a ruckus in the backyard. An annoyed Pluto confronts the gopher, and when the gopher refuses to leave Pluto decides it is up to him to rid the yard of the pest. Pluto does this by chasing the gopher through Minnie's beloved flower bed. When Minnie catches Pluto tearing up the flower bed she is very upset with him. Pluto is ashamed of himself, but becomes more upset when he finds out the gopher has found a new place to tear up. Now Pluto must try to get rid of the gopher without Minnie becoming suspicious of his actions. Who will win, the gopher or Pluto?
