Movie Summary

Kathryn Bigelow

FBI Agent Johnny Utah is recruited to infiltrate an exclusive surfing contingent suspected of being notorious bank robbers, the Ex-Presidents. Along with his partner Pappas, Utah successfully manages to integrate himself among the close knit surfers, led by Bodhi. Bodhi takes him under his wing, imparting his surfing and life philosophy on the undercover agent. Utah begins to get sucked into their adrenaline fueled world, and also begins falling for Bodhi's ex Tyler and soon finds it increasingly difficult to do his job, especially as he gets closer to snaring Bodhi's group in a dragnet.
