In the film, the city is under siege; a group of bandits have committed a wave of robberies and the Mayor (Kenneth Mars) wants them caught. In order to accomplish this, he puts Captain Harris (G.W. Bailey) and his partner, Lt. Proctor (Lance Kinsey), on the case. The two cops set up a stake out, but it fails miserably. The Mayor is furious and orders the cops to work with Commandant Eric Lassard (George Gaynes) on the investigation. Commadant Lassard assembles a team to help with the investigation including Lt. Moses Hightower (Bubba Smith), Sgt. Eugene Tackleberry (David Graf), Sgt. Larvelle Hooks (Marion Ramsey), Sgt. Douglas Fackler (Bruce Mahler) and his nephew, Sgt. Nick Lassard (Matt McMcoy), to aid with the investigation. The team has a plan to use bait to catch the criminals in the act, but they fear there may be a leak in the police department.moreless
