Pony Express (1953) is an action-packed Western that tells the story of Wild Bill Hickok (Forrest Tucker), Buffalo Bill (Charlton Heston), and their creation of the famous 19th century mail route. Intent on establishing a route that can get mail from Missouri to California in ten days, Buffalo Bill and Wild Bill find themselves up against outlaws, hostile Indians, and treacherous weather. The two heroes' fiercest foes, however, are a group of California separatists: Joe Cooper (Henry Brandon), Evelyn Hastings (Rhonda Fleming), and her brother Rance (Michael Moore). Cooper and his crew want to shut down this emerging rival to his Overland Express Co. and profit from political unrest in California. And Cooper and his cronies are willing to do whatever it takes to get the two Bills out of their way. A wild ride of adventure and intrigue await Buffalo Bill and Wild Bill as they fight to make history and open the West to the promise of the 19th century.moreless
