Poor White Trash is a 2000 comedy-crime themed film directed by Michael Addis. The film was distributed by Hollywood Independents and the Xenon Entertainment Group. The screenplay was written by Michael Addis and Tony Urban. Poor White Trash centers on the stories of lower-class youths Mike Bronco (Tony Denman) and Lynard "Lennie" Lake (Jacob Tierney). Mike is a level-headed young man who plans to leave his life of squalor by attending the Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Lennie is somewhat less ambitious; he plans to go to trucking school and spend his life as a long-haul trucker. Both of the young men's plans are jeopardized when they decide to shoplift some beer and end up in prison. As soon as they are released, Mike and Lennie hatch a plan to pull off a series of burglaries in order to raise enough money to pay for a lawyer. However, the stakes rise as each burglary seems to become riskier and more complicated.moreless
