Movie Summary

1991
Rating:

Popcorn is a 1991 horror film about a killer on the loose at an all-night horror film screening on a university campus. The students of a film class need to raise money when they lose their school funding. They decide to dust off some old horror films and charge the students. As the films play -- send-ups of 1950s and 1960s grade Z horror schlock -- the killer picks off his victims one by one. The pictures include "Mosquito", in 3-D Project-O-Vision; giant mutant insects run amuck after too much atomic bomb testing. "Attack of the Amazing Electrified Man," in Shock-O-Scope, is about a convicted killer who survives his execution by the use of a mad scientist's discovery of a third corpuscle. "The Stench", in Aroma-rama, features awful smelling gas pumped into the studio at the proper moments. Another film is called "The Possessor," found in a tin container with a warning to not open it. It turns out that the film was made by a nutzoid filmmaker named Lanyard Gates, who killed many people during the original showing of the film. Is he somehow behind these latest killings?moreless
